Prospective DPhil students with a strong background in engineering, mathematics, or a related field are welcome to get in touch to discuss possible projects and funding. All formal applications must be submitted through the Oxford Postgraduate Admissions system.
The deadline for entry in October 2026 is 2 December 2025 at 12:00 (UK time). Please contact me well in advance of this date if you would like to discuss your application.
Funding
I am affiliated with the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Autonomous Intelligent Machines and Systems (AIMS), which provides fully funded studentships. Applications to the CDT are competitive, and earlier submissions improve your chances. Additional funding routes include departmental fellowships and project-sponsored studentships.
Some university-wide scholarships that may be relevant:
- The Oxford Clarendon Fund — open to all nationalities.
- Rhodes Scholarships — for candidates from a range of eligible countries.
There are also postdoctoral fellowship schemes through Oxford and external funders. If you are interested in applying for a fellowship to work with the group, please get in touch.
Undergraduate Students
The group is not in a position to host undergraduate students from outside Oxford for summer internships.
